Summary

Derzeit werden 325 genehmigte Windenergieanlagen in Deutschland vor Gericht beklagt, 48% davon aus Gründen des Vogel- und Fledermausschutzes. Der Rotmilan ist besonders betroffen, da er aufgrund seiner Lebensweise eine hohe Kollisionsrate mit Windrädern hat und in Deutschland die größte Verantwortung für den Schutz dieser Art trägt. Die Politik und die Windbranche stehen vor der Wahl, das Problem zu ignorieren oder gemeinsam nach Lösungen zu suchen. Der NABU kritisiert die Darstellung des Bundesverbandes Windenergie, dass der Bestand des Rotmilans unabhängig vom Ausbau der Windenergie entwickelt wird, und verweist auf regionale Unterschiede in der Bestandsentwicklung und Warnsignale für die zukünftige Entwicklung des Bestands.
