The Government of Goa has announced a levy of "Processing fee" for applications made to the Town & Country Planning Department for issue of technical clearances for various developments/constructions. The processing fees are as follows:

For residential constructions:
- Upto 300m2: Rs. 200/-
- More than 300m2: Rs. 500/-
- For multi-family units:
- Upto 500m2: Rs. 500/-
- 501m2 to 1,000m2: Rs. 1,500/-
- 1,001m2 to 10,000m2: Rs. 1,500/- + Rs. 2,000/- per 1,000m2 or part thereof
- Above 10,000m2: Rs. 19,500/- + Rs. 3,000/- per 1,000m2 or part thereof

For commercial constructions:
- Upto 1,000m2: Rs. 10,000/-
- Above 1,000m2: Rs. 10,000/- + Rs. 5/- per m2 of the area above 1,000m2

For sub-division of land/amalgamation of plots: Rs. 2/- per m2 of area proposed for development

The processing fee shall be debited to the Budget Head: 0217 - Urban Development, 80 - General, 800 - Other Receipts, 81 - Other Items

Additional criteria for levying processing fee include:
- Payment of processing fee after obtaining required challan from the concerned office
- 50% of the applicable amount shall be levied on each occasion whenever the same proposal is re-submitted for revision
- The processing fee once paid is not refundable/adjustable
- If the plan/proposal is rejected, subsequent re-submissions will be treated as new applications for the purpose of "Processing Fee"
- The maximum amount of processing fee shall be limited to Rs. 50,000/- for each application
- The processing fee shall not be applicable to Government and Government aided Institutions

A separate order also levies a "Processing Fee" for applications made for Zoning Certificate/Zoning information based on the existing Regional Plan, Outline Development Plans or Zoning Plans applicable to the respective areas, which are:
- Area upto 2000 sq. mts: Rs. 500/-
- Area between 2001 to 5000 sq. mts: Rs. 1000/-
- 5001 sq. mts & above: Rs. 2000/-
