Summary

Duffy Kennedy Constructions have a vision to be Australia’s most client focused building company, turning a vision into reality through their approach called Intelligent Construction. They were appointed for the demolition of the existing building and construction of the new development, Kaz Tower, a 15-storey mixed use, residential and commercial development in Sydney’s CBD. The project presented many challenges, including skewed brickwork and an oscillating glazed façade, which required innovative problem solving. Duffy Kennedy worked collaboratively with clients and project teams as true partners and experts in design, construction and engineering. The building has been carefully designed and detailed to respond to the surrounding historical context, with some wharf timber from the existing building reinstated in the new building. Duffy Kennedy have grown to over 100 employees and are experienced at delivering a wide range of project types. They have a progressive approach, supported by strong traditional values. The project has been a huge success, with Duffy Kennedy passionate about achieving successful project outcomes. April Showers Waterproofing was appointed to supply and install the waterproofing systems, with a track record of over 35 years with no known failures. AENEC (Australian Energy Efficiency Consulting) ensured that Kaz Tower is BCA compliant by performing JV3 alternative solution analysis.
