Summary

The 4th ECB Simulation Conference for university students, supported by the Bank of Greece, was held online from December 11th to 14th, 2020. The conference was part of the "ECB Listens" program, which aims to gather Euro Area citizens' views, suggestions, and concerns on various topics. The conference participants, consisting of students from various academic backgrounds, answered questions on price stability, economic expectations, and concerns, as well as how the ECB can best communicate with them. The results showed that 92.7% of participants agreed that initiatives like "ECB Listens" contribute to the democratization of monetary policy decisions, and 90.2% believed it is an effective way of communication between the ECB and European youth. Additionally, 92.7% of participants agreed that the simulation conference is a good way to gain insight into the ECB's workings and decisions, and 58.5% completely agreed that it improved their understanding of the ECB's questions.
