Summary

The European Communities submitted a status report on implementing DSB recommendations and rulings in the dispute over measures affecting biotech products, as required by Article 21.6 of the DSU. The report follows the adoption of the Panel report on 21 November 2006, and the EC's confirmation of its intention to implement the recommendations. A reasonable period of time for implementation was initially set at 12 months, expiring on 21 November 2007, and later extended to 11 January 2008. The EC and complainants are engaged in constructive discussions to resolve the dispute.
