Summary

The Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) is conducting the Ninth Electricity Tariff Review (ETR9) and updating the Maximum Allowed Revenue (MAR) of the Distribution System Operator (DSO). The MAR is set to allow companies to cover reasonable costs and earn a reasonable return. ERO sets efficiency targets to increase operating efficiency and provides incentives or penalties if targets are not met. The last Periodic Review (ETR7) set the DSO's MAR for 2013-2017, approving a €107.25 million investment plan to address bottlenecks and high technical and commercial losses. The current review aims to adjust the MAR based on the ETR7 figures, with stakeholders invited to comment by March 23, 2015.
