The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the Indian economy, with a 24.4% contraction in Q1 of 2020-2021 and a 7.3% shrinkage in the entire fiscal year. The National Statistical Office reported this as the first fiscal contraction in over four decades. India faced challenges in economic revival, job creation, livelihood restoration, and healthcare infrastructure.

A national workshop, "Macro Stabilization Policies for India During the Post-Pandemic Period," was organized to discuss these issues, with special invited lectures by Prof. N R Bhanumurthy, Dr. Deba Prasad Rath, Dr. Nadhanael G.V, and Prof. Ashima Goyal. The workshop aimed to provide a platform for discussion on stabilization measures post-pandemic period and inspire thoughtful policy considerations.

The workshop schedule included inaugural sessions, special invited lectures, student presentations, and a felicitation ceremony. The lectures covered topics such as the Indian economy during and post-pandemic period, the role of fiscal policy in post-pandemic economic recovery, the current state of the global and domestic economy, and India's monetary policy stance during and post-pandemic period.
