Women and girls are responsible for 75% of unpaid care and domestic work, with women performing an average of 4 hours and 25 minutes of unpaid care work daily, compared to 1 hour and 23 minutes for men. The pandemic has exacerbated this issue, with increased care needs and reduced institutional support, highlighting the need for policies that value and redistribute unpaid care work to promote gender equality and sustainability.
