A community exchange team from Deep River visited Bancroft on August 8th and 12th, 2015. The team had limited knowledge of Bancroft before their visit, with some members having only stopped for a break while passing through. They found it easy to get information about Bancroft online, with a strong internet presence and plenty of information on the town's website. However, they had difficulty getting information over the phone, with contradictory and sometimes uninformative responses from municipal staff. The team was satisfied with the quality of information they received online, but found that in-person information was stronger. They suggested that the town improve its online presence, particularly with regards to recreational services, and consider using social media platforms to update residents and visitors. The team's first impression of Bancroft was very welcoming and open, with a busy and cheerful atmosphere. They found the entrances to the community to be favourable, with nice signage and well-kept properties.
