Friends of Bishop Chavasse School Association (FOBCSA) is an unincorporated charity governed by a Board of Trustees, responsible for ensuring the charity operates in compliance with its governing document and charity law. Trustees oversee the charity's affairs, ensuring it is well-managed, financially secure, and delivers its intended outcomes. They monitor the executive team's work, support and challenge them, and ensure the charity has opportunities to grow and thrive.

Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with governing documents, charity law, and relevant legislation
- Pursuing the charity's objects and maintaining high governance standards
- Ensuring efficient management, internal accountability, and appropriate policies
- Setting the charity's vision and strategy
- Contributing to leadership and decision-making
- Safeguarding the charity's name and values
- Protecting and managing the charity's property and funds

Trustees are expected to participate in three board meetings annually, the Annual General Meeting, and contribute to discussions, provide guidance, and approve operational strategies. They should maintain confidentiality, be aware of changes in the operating environment, and promote the charity's objects and reputation.

Trustees are appointed for a one-year term, with the option to stand for re-election. The role is voluntary, with reasonable expenses reimbursed. FOBCSA is seeking new trustees with an understanding of charities, primary school education, and previous board experience, as well as expertise in legal, HR, finance, or the voluntary sector.
