Summary

The Management Board of Frontex adopts Implementing Measures for the application of Regulation (EC) No 45/2001, concerning the processing of personal data by Frontex. The Decision lays down general measures implementing the Data Protection Regulation, including the appointment and status of the Frontex Data Protection Officer (DPO), roles and responsibilities of Data Controllers, rules for exercising data subjects' rights, and procedures for notifying the DPO of operations involving personal data. The DPO is appointed for a three-year term, is accountable to the Executive Director, and performs tasks such as advising on data protection matters, investigating occurrences, keeping a public register of operations, and raising awareness among staff members. The DPO also cooperates with the European Data Protection Supervisor and other Union institutions' DPOs.
