Summary

The Foreign Exchange Working Group (FXWG) established the Global FX Code to promote integrity and restore confidence in the wholesale foreign exchange market. The Code sets out good practices for market participants and their counterparties, and its adoption is expected to promote a robust, fair, and transparent FX market. The Code will not impose legal or regulatory obligations, but rather provide a framework for market participants to demonstrate their commitment to good market practices. The FXWG will work with market participants and associations to develop mechanisms to embed the Code in firms' culture and practices, and to monitor and demonstrate adherence. Central banks and market infrastructure providers are also expected to play a role in promoting adoption of the Code.
