If the Hate Speech Elimination Bill passes, will it be a repeat of the Human Rights Protection Bill?
I was part of the Working Team on Hate Speech set up by the ruling party, along with three members from the LDP and three from Komeito.
We are trying to find a way to stop hate speech while protecting freedom of expression, thought, and belief.
The previous Human Rights Protection Bill aimed to regulate human rights violations, but it could be misused to harm victims or create false accusation
