This invention relates to a quick-drying highway marking paint containing small transparent glass beads in a state of stable suspension, adapted to be sprayed on highway surfaces to provide durable reflex light-reflective traffic markers with high night-time visibility. The paint consists of a quick-drying varnish, titanium dioxide pigment, extender pigment, and glass beads with an average diameter of 3 to 10 mills, and a small proportion of dissolved lecithin to maintain the beads in suspension. The glass beads act as transparent sphere lenses, refracting incident light rays and causing "reflex" reflection, increasing the visibility of the markers to motorists at night. The one-step application procedure using pre-mixed beaded paint is superior to the old two-step procedure, resulting in a more durable and long-lasting marker.
