Summary

A Lei nº 11.346, de 15 de setembro de 2006, cria o Sistema Nacional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (SISAN) e representa a consagração de uma concepção abrangente e intersetorial da Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional, com base nos princípios do direito humano à alimentação e da soberania alimentar. O Sistema visa formular a Política e o Plano Nacional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional, com diretrizes, metas e recursos para garantir a alimentação suficiente e de qualidade para todos. A Lei também institucionaliza o Conselho Nacional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (CONSEA) e outras instâncias, tornando a Segurança Alimentar uma política de Estado.
