Summary

The IHSAA Executive Committee approved new sectional assignments for six team sports for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years. Changes were made in volleyball, girls basketball, and boys basketball, with Wood Memorial moving from Class A, Sectional 63 to 64 and Orleans moving from Class A, Sectional 64 to 63. LaPorte was also moved from Class 4A, Sectional 2 to 3 in volleyball. Realignment committees were formed for each sport, consisting of school administrators from each IHSAA district and class. The baseball and softball realignment committee will meet in the summer to present their recommendations to the Executive Committee for approval in August.
