Summary

Each child is supported to regulate their own behaviour, respond appropriately to the behaviour of others and communicate effectively to resolve conflicts. The service must ensure the Law and Regulations are met, then work through the process of meeting the National Quality Standard (NQS) element, and finally, look at and complete the exceeding themes. To achieve this, the service must review the points from the Law, conduct a compliance test with educators, and provide training for those who fail to meet the regulations. The compliance test involves asking educators questions about the regulations and recording their responses to identify areas for improvement. The service must also guide educators to ensure they are meeting the meeting level, explore the exceeding themes, and work with the Nominated Supervisor to edit the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) template. The service must also provide educators with the daily planner to document and show the assessor how they are working with educators. The service must also explore the exceeding themes with the examples in the educators' section and their section for critical reflection and families and communities. The Educational Leader must conduct a weekly sheet to monitor and follow up on the activities and comments from the educators. The compliance test for educators involves asking questions about the regulations and recording the responses to identify areas for improvement. The answers to the compliance test are as follows: Miss Amy's statement about facing a fine of $10,000 for corporal punishment or unreasonable discipline is accurate. Mr. Matt's inquiry about whether the regulations cover the guidance of children's behaviour is addressed in the regulations. Miss Kym's statement about Reg 156 Relationships in Groups being relevant to element 5.2.2 self-regulation is also accurate. The service must utilise Social Learning Theory in early childhood by providing positive guidance and encouragement towards acceptable behaviour, and by ensuring that the size and composition of groups do not affect children's ability to engage in positive interactions and control their behaviour.
