Summary

Vetex GmbH & Co. KG replaced the conventional carpet imprint process with a new process that generates colors by mixing basic colors, similar to inkjet printers, achieving new quality and safety standards with low energy and material consumption. The project resulted in:
• reduction of material consumption by 1,508,519 kg/a
• decrease in carpet waste by 3,517 m2/a
• reduction of wash and waste water by 6,914 m3/a
• reduction of energy demand by 6,075 kWh/a
• savings of CO2 emissions by approx. 13.35 t CO2/a. The investment was slightly exceeded, and the amortization period is 5 years. The new process may serve as a role model for the carpet industry.
