Joint Submission for the United Nations 2020 Universal Periodic Review of the USA, prepared by the Working Group of the African Diaspora Directorate, proposes a solution to 400 years of African American history, addressing racism and discrimination through the #BlackFolksPlan, utilizing $90B in Bank-based Community Benefit Agreements and Opportunity Zones. The submission is a collaboration between Friends of the African Union (FAU) and New Future Foundation, two organizations working to improve the lives of people of African descent. FAU, founded in 2012, is an economic, social, humanitarian, charitable, educational, and new media civil-society organization, while New Future Foundation, established in 1969, is a non-governmental organization with UN ECOSOC status, focused on cultural pride, individual initiative, and neighborhood leadership. The submission aims to create a domestic next-generation innovation team for sustainable change in human rights in the United States, based on the AU definition of the African Diaspora, which consists of people of African origin living outside the continent, willing to contribute to the development of the continent and building of the African Union.
