Pohjoismaissa tarvitaan laajaa näkemystä kielitaidosta, erityisesti turvapaikanhakijoiden kasvavan määrän vuoksi. Kielikoulutuksen on huomioitava kaikki maahanmuuttajaryhmät ja yksilön tarpeet, ja hyödynnettävä yksilön olemassa olevaa osaamista. Kaikissa Pohjoismaissa on luotu hyviä malleja, jotka on nyt otettava yhteiseen käyttöön. Jokaisen opettajan on tiedostettava roolinsa kielen opettajana, ja maahanmuuttajien on oltava mukana aktiivisina toimijoina.
