Summary

The Manufacturing Alliance's vision is for manufacturing to be a career of choice and a primary contributor to New Zealand's wealth. To achieve this, the alliance has four policy goals:
1. Removal of Labour Constraints: addressing workforce gaps, integrating immigration and vocational education, and making New Zealand attractive to skilled migrants.
2. Access to Capital for Growth and Productivity Improvement: changing depreciation rules, providing government support for investment, and co-funding for desirable outcomes.
3. Innovation Support that is Fit for Purpose: reviewing and improving policies and systems to support innovation in manufacturing, recognizing the unique needs of New Zealand's manufacturers.
4. Empowering New Zealand's manufacturers to succeed: identifying and assessing trade-distorting practices, and adopting a more pragmatic approach to international trade policy.
