Summary

The Cypriot Ministry of Health has issued an updated directive making the use of protective masks mandatory for the general population, aged 12 and above, in all indoor and outdoor areas, as well as in public transportation. Exemptions include:

Private homes
Individuals eating or drinking
People traveling alone or with family members in a private vehicle
Athletes/exercisers in gyms, dance schools, etc.
Chefs/cooks while cooking
Individuals with special cognitive/psychological/developmental disabilities
* People with severe neurological/muscular disorders or anatomical facial abnormalities

The directive takes effect on October 23, 2020. Failure to comply will result in a €300 fine for the individual, not the business. The maximum wholesale and retail price for masks is set by the Minister of Health's decree on August 20, 2020. Any violations should be reported to the Consumer Line at 1429.
