Summary

The National Collaborative on Childhood Obesity Research (NCCOR) aims to improve childhood obesity research by promoting common measures and methods. To achieve this, NCCOR established a Measures Registry Workgroup to develop a web-based registry of childhood obesity prevention measures. Mathematica Policy Research built a database to support the registry, focusing on four domains: physical activity environment and policies, food environment and policies, individual dietary behaviors, and individual physical activity behaviors. The database includes information on psychometric characteristics, populations, and administration of measures used in published, peer-reviewed literature. A scan for emerging measures was also conducted to identify relevant measures for future updates.
