A survey of 679 registered voters in Michigan from September 26-27, 2023, found:
42% have a favorable opinion of Joe Biden, while 51% have an unfavorable opinion.
43% approve of Biden's job performance, and 51% disapprove.
35% have a favorable opinion of Donald Trump, while 58% have an unfavorable opinion.
In a hypothetical presidential election between Biden and Trump, 48% would vote for Biden, and 44% for Trump.
19% approve of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's job, and 53% disapprove.
22% approve of the job Republicans in the House are doing, and 60% disapprove.
57% think Trump is more likely to deny the outcome of the next election if he loses, and 55% think he is more likely to incite violence among his supporters.
49% say Trump's claims about the 2020 election make them less likely to vote for him.
50% think the House should have to vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry before it begins.
68% would rather Republicans focus on addressing issues like inflation and the economy than impeaching Biden.
44% say if their Congressperson voted for an impeachment inquiry into Biden, it would make them less likely to support them.
68% agree with Senator Mitch McConnell that impeachment ought to be rare.
42% say if Trump is convicted of a felony, it would make them less likely to support him.
53% think it's probable Trump committed serious crimes in at least one of the cases he's been indicted in.
45% voted for Trump in the 2020 election, and 48% voted for Biden.
The survey respondents were 52% women, 46% men, and 2% non-binary.
35% identified as Democrats, 30% as Republicans, and 35% as independents.
80% were white, and 20% were other ethnicities.
32% were 18-45 years old, 41% were 46-65, and 27% were older than 65.
