Minutes of Millfields User Group AGM held on 28th March 2015:
Present were various members and guests, including Georgie Brown and Holly Lewis.
The AGM consisted of a walkabout and meeting, discussing Green Flag status, a new wildflower meadow, South Play, park improvement works, and other topics.
The Council will consider proposals for South Play, focusing on sustainable natural play.
New entrances and furniture will be installed in summer, and railings will be removed.
The £37k annual payment by National Grid will go to parks maintenance.
The basketball court needs refurbishment, but there's no available council funding.
The Lodge's planning permission requires use for a purpose ancillary to the Park.
Developers are seeking planning permission for 48 flats on the Magnet Site, which Parks have objected to.
The meeting also discussed North Millfields, the paddling pool, and elections for the new committee.
Thanks were given to outgoing members, and it was decided to leave committee meetings open to all.
Norman Jacobs spoke about his new book, Pie n Mash and Prefabs.
