The East Dean Parish Council Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on April 17, 2023, at the East Dean Village Hall. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved, and the Chairman's Report was presented, highlighting the challenges faced by the parish due to inflation and the importance of supporting local businesses and community events. The report also acknowledged the efforts of volunteers who maintain the village and thanked Alexia for her clerking services.

The council elected officers, with Neil Georges re-elected as Chairman and Sarah Peirson as Vice Chair. The financial statement was presented, showing a total of £23,804 in the bank accounts, with £19,897.49 in the Active Saver H West (legacy) account and £3,907.39 in the Lloyds current account. The precept for 2022-2023 was £1,145, and the council was able to freeze the funding requirement for the twelfth year in a row.

The council discussed various matters, including the village clear-up, speed watch, and maintenance works. The Chairman thanked councilors for their efforts and hard work over the past year and encouraged villagers to support local events and volunteer their time to help maintain the village.

A separate meeting of the East Dean Parish Council was held immediately after the AGM, with the same attendees, where Sara Hutton-Potts' resignation as a councillor was accepted, and Jeremy Hunt and Alexia Ward were in attendance.
