The City of Tacoma Public Utility Special Board Meeting was held on March 24, 2021. The meeting was called to order by Chair Flint, and all members were present via Zoom. The minutes of the previous meetings were adopted, and the rules of Public Utility Board Government Process Eight were suspended to allow public comment on all topics.

The board approved four contracts: a three-year contract with Asplundh Tree Expert for power line vegetation clearance, a contract with Midvale Signals for active grade crossing signalization, a two-year contract with RailWorks Track Systems for railroad grade crossing signal system maintenance, and a two-year contract with Motorola Solutions for equipment and services to upgrade Tacoma Water's VHF radio system.

The board also adopted two resolutions: one to revise the implementation of the WorkForce Connect special project and extend it through December 31, 2021, and another to declare the Mayfield power transformers as surplus and authorize their sale to the highest responsive bidder, with a public hearing to be held on the declaration of surplus.
