43% of adults and 47% of registered voters approve of the job Donald Trump is doing as president, while 46% of adults and 45% of registered voters disapprove. 40% of adults and 42% of registered voters have a favorable impression of Trump.

In the congressional election, 47% of registered voters prefer a Congress controlled by Republicans, and 40% prefer one controlled by Democrats. 73% of registered voters think the November election for Congress is very important.

In the Texas Senate race, 45% of registered voters support Beto O'Rourke, and 49% support Ted Cruz. In the governor's race, 37% support Lupe Valdez, and 56% support Greg Abbott.

The most important issues in deciding votes for Congress are the economy and jobs (22%), healthcare (20%), and immigration (18%). 49% of registered voters say their vote for Congress will be to send a message that we need more Democrats to be a check and balance to Donald Trump.

30% of adults and 33% of registered voters think raising tariffs and barriers to imports will protect American jobs and help the U.S. economy, while 41% of adults and 40% of registered voters think it will raise the costs of consumer goods and hurt the U.S. economy.
