Summary

IPART has determined a "fair and reasonable" feed-in tariff for NSW consumers with solar electricity sources, setting a benchmark range of 7.7 to 12.9 cents per kilowatt hour for 2012/13, which is lower than the previously estimated range of 5.2 to 10.3 c/kWh for 2011/12. Retailers are not required to offer feed-in tariffs within this range and can set their own tariffs, which will be published on the myenergyoffers.nsw.gov.au website. The determination also requires retailers to contribute 7.7 c/kWh towards the costs of the Solar Bonus Scheme for eligible customers.
