Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has introduced Digi Locker to enable subscribers to open and manage their National Pension System (NPS) accounts digitally.

Key features:
- Account opening using Driving License (DL) through Digi Locker
- Updation of existing address using DL through Digi Locker
- The facility can be availed by prospective subscribers opening their accounts with Protean CRA and existing subscribers of Protean CRA for updating their address

Steps for opening NPS account using DL through Digi Locker:
1. Open NPS registration page on Protean CRA website
2. Select New Registration with Documents and choose Driving License
3. Login to Digi Locker and provide consent for sharing documents
4. Allow NPS to access Digi Locker and issued documents
5. Demographic information and photo will be auto-populated
6. Provide PAN, personal details, bank account information, and other details
7. Make payment towards NPS contribution
8. NPS account will be generated successfully

Steps for updating address in NPS account using DL through Digi Locker:
1. Login to NPS account on Protean CRA website
2. Select Update Personal Details and then Update Address Details
3. Choose Digi Locker and select Driving License
4. Login to Digi Locker and provide consent for sharing documents
5. Allow NPS to access Digi Locker and issued documents
6. Verify old and new addresses and generate OTP
7. Upon submitting OTP, address will be updated immediately in NPS account.
