Summary

The NJC pay award of £1,925 on all pay points has been agreed, backdated from 1 April, with 63.5% of UNISON members voting to accept and 36.5% voting to reject. The award will be included in the November salary, along with back pay, and an extra day of leave will begin in April 2023. Despite the settlement being better than previous years, it still represents a real pay cut due to the high RPI inflation rate. The national committee will begin negotiations for 2023/24 as soon as possible, and the Enough is Enough campaign has been launched to fight against real terms pay cuts, with over 600,000 people joining and the Sandwell UNISON Branch backing the campaign.
