Summary

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased atrocities against women, children, and minorities in Bangladesh, with rape victims ranging from 3 to 80 years old. Religious leaders can play a supporting role in promoting safe access to support services and justice for victims/survivors. To achieve this, awareness campaigns should be conducted in educational institutions and religious organizations to educate people and reduce stigma against victims. Support for victims should be provided organizationally, leading to self-dependency and establishment in life. The execution of laws is a challenge, and social acceptance and practice are crucial. Suggestions include considering rape as an unfortunate accident, introducing mandatory "Camera Trial" to maintain confidentiality, and providing special quotas for victims in services. Minorities are the most vulnerable, and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) can take up a Pilot Project to promote and implement these suggestions with the help of religious leaders and committee members.
