Rules of Operation for Mobile Collections at the Ljubljana City Library

1. The Ljubljana City Library (MKL) regulates the procedures for establishing and managing mobile collections with these rules.
2. The library entrusts the management of individual mobile collections to the partner organization that initiated it.
3. MKL takes over the tasks of forming the mobile collection upon signing an agreement with the partner organization.
4. The partner organization ensures suitable spatial conditions and equipment, and appoints a custodian to organize the use and supervise the operation of the mobile collection.
5. Each mobile collection is a closed unit with control over its content.
6. The content and scope of the collection depend on the environment for which it is intended, and MKL considers the wishes of the initiator and potential users.
7. The expected scope of the library collection is a matter of agreement between the library and the initiator, and does not exceed 250 units of material.
8. MKL replaces the mobile collection up to four times a year, and the material borrowed at the time of replacement becomes part of the new collection.
9. The initiator or recipient of the mobile collection ensures accessibility with their spatial capacities and personnel capabilities, and MKL provides professional recommendations and training.
10. The initiator determines the users of the mobile collection, and ensures control over any limitations.
11. The initiator or recipient determines the borrowing period and conditions, and the custodian organizes borrowing and keeps basic records.
12. The recipient of the mobile collection can borrow material from MKL's stationary libraries under the same conditions as other users.
13. The mobile collection is formed from MKL's basic collection and remains its property.
14. MKL publishes information about mobile collections on its website, including notices and application forms.
15. A mobile collection is established with a submitted proposal and the signing of a management agreement.
16. These rules come into effect the day after they are signed by the director.
