Summary

The Cross Community Working Group on Enhancing ICANN Accountability (CCWG-Accountability) published its 2nd draft report on October 13, 2015, and received public comments from August 3 to September 12, 2015. The report aims to strengthen ICANN's accountability mechanisms in light of the IANA Functions transition. The CCWG-Accountability received comments from 63 organizations and 34 individuals, which are being reviewed and addressed. A staff summary of the comments is available, and the CCWG-Accountability is refining its conclusions and proposals based on the feedback. The next steps include finalizing the report and submitting it to the Chartering Organizations for endorsement, and delivering the Work Stream 1 conclusions to the ICANN Board of Directors as appropriate.
