Funding Priorities / Eligible Projects:
- 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations with a local chapter
- Maximum funding: $20,000
- Projects benefiting disadvantaged individuals in Bexar or adjacent counties
- Ineligible: individuals, churches, schools, private foundations, research, salaries, admin expenses, travel, political/religious campaigns, fundraising, general operating expenses, endowments, debt reduction, buildings, maintenance, vehicles

Grant Application Submission:
- Use 2023-2024 SAJF Grant Application form
- Email to [email protected]
- Subject line: SAJF Grant Application – [Organization's Name]
- Include detailed project budget
- Authorized signature and date (electronic accepted)
- Deadline: November 1, 2023
- Single PDF document (<30 MB)
- Applications not accepted via courier, mail, or Google Drive

Supporting Documentation:
- Project budget (totaling amount requested)
- Organization's general operating budget
- IRS letter confirming 501(c)(3) status
- General liability insurance certificate
- Most recent IRS Form 990 or financial statements (2 years)
- List of officers and board of directors
- Additional relevant documents

Evaluation:
- Reviewed by SAJF Grants Committee, approved by Board and membership
- Considered: project's impact, potential, originality, need, quality of life improvement, cost per person served

Compliance Regulations:
- Submit proof of funds usage and recognition within 12 and 2 months of grant award, respectively

Tax Year and Anticipated Funding:
- SAJF fiscal year: June 1st - May 31st
- Funding dependent on SAJF's annual grant budget
- Preference given to projects meeting criteria and addressing immediate community needs
