Summary

The Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 is a legislative instrument made by the Minister for Industry under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011. The instrument sets out the standards for RTOs, including requirements for training and assessment, obligations to learners and clients, and governance and administration. The standards commence on different dates for different classes of persons or RTOs, with some provisions commencing on 1 January 2015 and others on 1 April 2015. The instrument also revokes the Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations 2012 and the Fit and Proper Person Requirements 2011, with transitional arrangements in place to ensure continuity. The standards are outlined in Attachment A, which includes six standards and six schedules.
