Summary

The Youth Action Board (YAB) has 3-5 members and is recruiting two additional members, with a compensation of $80 per hour for attending meetings. The YAB is working on establishing best practices for TAY shelters.
2-1-1 Orange County Resource Training: 2-1-1 Orange County provides a resource database with over 1,100 organizations and 3,000 programs. The database is updated annually, and resources can be accessed through dialing 2-1-1, email, or text.
 Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Dashboard: As of September 2023, the TAY Registry reported 14 self-identified chronically homeless TAY, with 10 TAY housed in the current fiscal year. There are 231 TAY active in the Coordinated Entry System (CES) project.
Continuum of Care (CoC) Updates: The FY 2024 HMIS Data Standards Updates will go into effect on October 1, 2023. A training on the National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) will be held on September 14, 2023.

Next Steps

The YAB will continue to recruit new members and work on establishing best practices for TAY shelters.
2-1-1 Orange County will consider adding a TAY Resource Portal to their database.
 The CoC will host a training on NSPIRE and a special meeting of the board on September 11, 2023.
* The next TAY Collaborative Committee meeting will be held on November 10, 2023.
