Domestic violence perpetrator programmes reduce repeated episodes of violent behaviour, with all four UK studies reporting a reduction. One study found men who completed the programme were less likely to have repeated episodes of violence (33%) at 12-month follow-up compared to those who did not attend (69%). Programmes are based on cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic approaches, aiming to change learned behaviours and personality traits.
