Summary

USU Procedure 582-PR outlines requirements for reporting effort when employees receive external funding from any source, as defined in USU Policy #582 and OMB Circular A-21. Employees must document percentages of effort expended on all projects and activities in writing, primarily through accurate budgeting, interim review, and after-the-fact review by someone with suitable means to verify accurate reporting. The procedure involves generating reports, such as the Personnel Services Report and Quarterly Salary Distribution Report, to review and verify effort reported, and correcting errors through the Labor Redistribution module and EPAF form. Annual Time & Effort Reports must be reviewed and certified by the PI or another individual with suitable means to verify effort, and returned to the SPA by September 30 each year.
