TTIA NEWSLETTER/ DECEMBER 2016 reports on various activities and meetings of the Thai Tuna Industry Association (TTIA) in December 2016, including:
- Participating in a ceremony to facilitate the public's access to the royal urn at Sanam Luang
- Visiting the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries and the Director of the General Administration Department to discuss issues related to the tuna industry
- Meeting with the Director-General of the European Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the EU's concerns about Thailand's fishing industry
- Discussing with the Customs Department about problems related to the reduction of time for correcting data in shipping documents and the selection of transshipment ports
- Participating in a seminar on Ship to Shore Rights and a workshop on the design of a system for monitoring and controlling fishing vessels
- Meeting with the American Embassy to discuss the TIP Report and other issues related to the fishing industry
- Discussing with the Metal Packaging Association of Thailand and steel plate manufacturers about the industry's situation and trends.
