Tynron Community Council meeting minutes from 21st March 2016:
Police reported a drop in rural crime, with ongoing drug and alcohol talks at Wallace Hall and Sanquhar Academy.
A bench project is underway, with Sophie Armstrong creating the bench and the Community Council offering to pay for her time.
A Community Resilience Plan is being drafted, including a flooding plan, to be presented at the July meeting.
A litter pick event had 15 participants, cleaning up the A702, Scaur glen, and village roads.
The Queen's 90th birthday will be celebrated with a possible bonfire on the Doon, and a joint celebration with Keir and Penpont is being considered.
The KTP Steering Group is making progress, with a briefing meeting to be held after the AGM on 6th June.
Wind farm updates include amendments to the Windy Rigg planning, approval of the Wether Hill extension, and an invitation to an information exhibition for Quantans Hill.
First responder training is being explored, with 3 yeses and 2 maybes responding to the call for interest.
The Scottish Power Network Pylon Proposal has been withdrawn, but changes to the route may follow.
The Community Council has a current bank balance of £13,924.63, and is in the process of changing bank accounts to the Co-operative Bank.
Other business includes the installation of a DSLAM box to improve broadband, and a request for volunteers and funding from the Joseph Thomson Memorial Centre Committee.
