- UCI WorldTour events are entered by the Professional Cycling Council.
- Other events are entered by the UCI management committee into different classes based on set criteria.

- Race Registration:
- To be registered on the international calendar, a race must guarantee at least 5 foreign teams.
- A mixed team is composed of riders from different teams, wearing an identical jersey but not a national jersey.

- International Races and Participation:
- Different categories (Olympic Games, World Championships, UCI WorldTour, UCI Europe Tour, etc.) have specific participation rules for men elite (ME), women elite (WE), men under-23 (MU), men junior (MJ), and women junior (WJ).
- UCI WorldTour races require riders to have submitted accurate whereabouts information and undergone three blood parameter tests within six weeks.

- Race Classifications:
- ME riders can participate in ME and MU races, but MU races are exclusive to MU riders.
- ME Ncup races are reserved for MU category riders.
