Summary

271 veterans on the registry, 160 experiencing unsheltered homelessness. 2 veterans have been on the registry since 2021, and 21 since 2022.
Targeted Outreach for Veterans: 45 older adult veterans, 16 veterans with over 10 years of homelessness, and 16 veteran families identified. Collaborative efforts between VA, SSVF, and Regional Care Coordination Services teams have provided shelter, temporary accommodation support, and housing assistance.
 Orange County Veterans and Military Connected Families Collaborative (OCVMFC) Update: Previous work on the Ask the Questions campaign presented.
Veterans Affairs (VA) National Housing Conference: Chair Eric Richardson to present on veteran leadership and targeted outreach in Orange County.
 Provider Feedback:
+ 70 people housed through Welcome Home OC program since December 2022.
+ Interest forms available for CoC Nominating Committee and CoC Board.
+ New position at OC Office on Aging, and increased utilization for presentations.
+ Veteran Stand Down and Resource Event update: 181 registrants, 260 meals served.
+ 99 units for veterans under development, including 10 VASH units and 89 units at Estrella Springs.
* Next Meeting: Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (subject to rescheduling).
