To vote in the June 7, 2022 California primary election, follow these steps:

1. Verify voter registration: Check voterstatus.sos.ca.gov to ensure all information is correct. If not registered, visit registertovote.ca.gov to register online or pick up a form at the DMV, post office, library, or county elections office.
2. Register by May 23: To receive a mail-in ballot, register by May 23.
3. Complete mail-in ballot: Fill out the ballot, sign, date, and seal it in the provided envelope. Return by mail (no postage needed) with a postmark by June 7.
4. Alternative submission methods: Submit the ballot in person at the county elections office or a polling place. Many counties have secure drop boxes available from early May.
5. In-person voting: Vote on June 7, 7am-8pm, at a polling place (find location at sos.ca.gov/elections/polling-place).
6. Early voting: Most counties offer in-person voting from May 28 to June 7. Check with your local elections office for locations and hours.
7. Bring mail-in ballot to polling place: To make in-person voting easier, bring the mail-in ballot to the polling place.
