Summary

We, the Ministers, met in Singapore to strengthen the WTO, assess implementation of commitments, review negotiations, examine world trade developments, and address challenges. We believe trade liberalization has created jobs and contributed to growth, and we commit to addressing challenges posed by the changing international economy. We renew our commitment to core labour standards, reject protectionism, and aim for a fair and open rule-based system. We will work to integrate developing and least-developed countries into the multilateral system, ensure regional trade agreements are complementary to the WTO, and facilitate accession of new members. We support the Dispute Settlement Understanding and attach high priority to full implementation of the WTO Agreement, with a focus on improving compliance with notification requirements.
