Morocco reaffirms its commitment to the multilateral trading system and the WTO Agreements, and will contribute to consolidating multilateral rules and disciplines. Morocco emphasizes the importance of gauging the efficacy of WTO rules in terms of improving social and economic indicators in developing countries. The country calls for the continuation of the orderly and responsible liberalization of world trade, and for full participation by developing countries in future multilateral negotiations. Morocco also highlights the need to address issues such as trade protection systems, rules of origin, technical barriers to trade, trade-related investment measures, and intellectual property rights, and to provide special and differential treatment to developing countries. Additionally, Morocco proposes the extension of international protection of geographical indications to products other than wines and spirits, and the identification of instruments for fostering the transfer of technology under equitable conditions.
