The survey also examined the main land use of the properties, including residential, agricultural, and forested areas. The results showed that:

In urban areas, 0.1% of residential properties, 2.0% of agricultural properties, and 1.1% of forested properties had unresolved inheritance registrations for 90 years or more.
In smaller cities and rural areas, 3.8% of residential properties, 9.4% of agricultural properties, and 3.1% of forested properties had unresolved inheritance registrations for 90 years or more.

Overall, the survey found that a significant number of properties in Japan have unresolved inheritance registrations, with a higher percentage found in smaller cities and rural areas.
