The Laser Construction Research Association, a general incorporated association, has developed a safety guideline for outdoor laser construction work. The guideline aims to ensure the safe use of high-power laser equipment in outdoor construction sites. The association, which was established in 2019, has been working to promote the use of laser technology in infrastructure maintenance and construction. The safety guideline was developed over a period of two years, with the participation of experts and member companies, and was approved at the association's regular general meeting in July 2021. The guideline will be provided free of charge to member companies and at a fee to non-member companies. The association also plans to start a qualification training program in October 2021, which will lead to the creation of two new certifications: "Laser Irradiation Processing Constructor" and "Laser Irradiation Processing Management Engineer".
