To reduce the tax burden on self-use housing, the tax law provides a preferential tax rate of 2‰ for self-use residential land, but if the household registration is moved out, the taxpayer must report the change to the tax bureau within 30 days and pay the general land tax rate. If the household registration is moved back in, the taxpayer must reapply for the self-use residential land tax rate before September 22nd of the same year.
