The meeting also discussed the issue of radiation contamination and the need for decontamination efforts. Mayor Endo mentioned that the village is still struggling with high radiation levels, and the national government has not provided clear guidance on how to address the issue. He emphasized the importance of creating a new and safe environment for the villagers to return to.

In a separate report, a group of volunteers from the SVCF conducted decontamination work at an orphanage in Fukushima City. The orphanage had already received public decontamination, but there were still areas with high radiation levels. The volunteers worked to remove contaminated soil and reduce the radiation levels, and their efforts were successful in lowering the radiation levels in the targeted areas.
